The Khaled Hosseini Foundation is currently inviting applicants for its Omid (Hope) Grant Program to support humanitarian projects in Afghanistan.
The Khaled Hosseini Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that was started by Khaled Hosseini, the award-winning author of The Kite Runner in 2008.
TKHF funds grantees who provide humanitarian relief and shelter to families, economic opportunity for women, and healthcare and education for children in Afghanistan.
Eligibility Criteria
- Omid grants are made to support humanitarian projects in Afghanistan. Only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, or those with fiscal funders who are designated as 501(c)(3) and that are working to provide the following in Afghanistan may apply:
- Education and/or training
- Economic opportunities
- Healthcare for women and children
- The foundation does not fund individuals, individual trips or tours, conferences or events, or projects that benefit political, religious, or military organizations.
