Open Society Foundations-Armenia is seeking applications for its 2018 Small Grant Competition to address existing issues in the field of education.
The initiative aims at promoting social justice and equity in education, the quality of education and the accessibility of education in general education institutions and communities, parents and teachers, community activists and school youth and other stakeholders. The goal of the initiative is to form an influential group of beneficiaries in the field of general education by developing alternative parent groups and platforms as well as parenting councils in educational institutions.
Thematic Priorities
- Equitable, fair and proportional realization of all children’s education rights,
- access to quality pre-school education and general education, including access to inclusive general education,
- Awareness raising on the impact of corruption and politicization in the education system (including higher education institutions)
- transparency and accountability of educational institutions.
Grant Information
- The proposed budget should not exceed $ 1,500 for one program.
- Programs should start in 2018 September 1 and last for up to 3 months.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants can apply to the Grant Program.
- representatives of community-based active groups and parent groups established within the framework of previous initiatives of the given initiative,
- active citizens concerned with education quality and accessibility issues who wish and can initiate and implement activities aimed at addressing the above mentioned issues in educational institutions and communities,
- representatives of preschool educational institutions and parent councils of schools,
- active students.
