The European Union (EU) is currently accepting proposals from eligible organisations for a program entitled “Urbayiti: urban governance and resilience” to improve the living environment of the most vulnerable populations, ensuring that cities and human settlements are inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable (SDG 11).
Programme Lots
The programme is divided in to three lots:
- Lot 1: Participation of civil society: EUR 1 000 000
- Lot 2: Local waste management: EUR 2,000,000
- Lot 3: Support to the construction sector: EUR 1,500,000
Grant Information
Any grant application under this Call for Proposals must be between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- Lot 1:
- minimum amount: EUR 350,000
- maximum amount: 500 000 EUR
- Lot 2:
- minimum amount: 750 000 EUR
- maximum amount: EUR 1,000,000
- Lot 3:
- minimum amount: 500 000 EUR
- maximum amount: EUR 750 000
Eligibility Criteria
- Lead applicants
- To be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must meet the following conditions:
- to be a legal person and
- be non-profit and
- belong to one of the following categories: non-governmental organization, public sector operator, and international organization (intergovernmental), as defined by the Rules of Application of the Financial Regulation of the European Union and
- to be established in a Member State of the European Union or in another eligible country in accordance with the ACP-EC Partnership Agreement and Decision 1/2014 of the ACP-EU Council of Ministers on the revision of Annex IV the ACP-EC Partnership Agreement ; for UK applicants: Please note that the eligibility criteria must be respected throughout the duration of the grant. If the United Kingdom withdraws from the EU during the implementation period of the grant contract without entering into an agreement with the EU to ensure in particular the continued eligibility of UK applicants, they will cease to receive funding from the EU. the EU (while continuing, if possible, to participate in the implementation of the action) or they will be forced to abandon the project on the basis of the general conditions of the grant contract. This obligation does not apply to international organizations and
- Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant (s) and the affiliated entity (ies) and not be limited to an intermediary role and,
- Be registered officially with the national services concerned (according to the laws and regulations in force).
- Have a good knowledge of the themes treated in the action proven by prior experiences.
- Potential applicants can not participate in calls for proposals or receive a grant if they are in one of the situations.
- To be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must meet the following conditions:
- Co-Applicant (s)
- The co-applicants participate in the definition and implementation of the action, and the costs they incur are eligible in the same way as those incurred by the lead applicant.
- Joint applicants must meet the eligibility criteria that apply to the chief plaintiff to file it – even.
- Affiliated entities
- The lead applicant and its co-applicants may act with one or more affiliated entities.
- Only the following entities may be considered affiliated with the Lead Applicant and / or the co-applicant (s):
- Only those entities structurally related to the applicants (the lead applicant or a co-applicant), in particular in capital or legal terms.

- Entities affiliated with an applicant may therefore be:
