The U.S. Embassy in Mali is seeking applications to recruit qualified Malian students for the Study of the U.S. Institutes for Student Leaders on Social Entrepreneurship 2019 (SUSI).
This program provides the opportunity to Malian beneficiaries a deeper understanding of the United States while simultaneously enhancing their leadership skills.
Eligibility Criteria
Young leaders who meet the below criteria are eligible to apply for SUSI:
- Undergraduate student (1st to 3rd year University level) with at least one semester left;
- Malian between 18 and 25 years old by December 2019;
- Very good level of English (speaking and writing);
- No or limited prior study/travel to the U.S.;
- Interested in social entrepreneurship and economic development;
- Strong leadership skills, demonstrated commitment to community and extracurricular activities;
- Sustained high level of academic achievement;
- High interest in learning about the United States, prepared to adjust to American culture
