Civica Mobilitas has announced a call for proposals for Action Grants. Civic Mobilitas is a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), which has implemented by NIRAS from Denmark, the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC) and FCG Swedish Development AB (FCS Sweden).
General Goal: The social changes in Macedonia are driven by a strong civil sector, active citizens and good cooperation with the authorities, from which it arises more transparent, accountable and socially-inclusive governance at national and local level.
Also, the proposed actions should contribute to the achievement of one or the more results of the program:
- Result 1 – The environment for civil society: The environment for the development of civic- society has been improved by creating mechanisms for better co-operation between government- civil society organizations and increased state funding for civil society.
- Result 2 – Civilian engagement: Civic organizations create strong constituents and thus enable active civic engagement in civic initiatives, including volunteering.
- Result 3 – Cooperation: Co-operation between CSOs is improved and guided towards alliances of civil society.
- Result 4 – Citizen participation: CSOs actively participate in the process all of creating and making decisions leading to improved policies and practices.
Priorities
Priorities in this call for action grants are the following:
- Geographical coverage : selected grantees (applicants and partners) and their actions; should, as far as possible, be located and implemented in all eight planning regions;
- Sectoral: actions aimed at the development of civil society “as such” and / or social sectors such as good governance or social inclusion.
- Thematic : actions focused on topics that are closely related to the results of CIVIC mobilitas, i.e. enabling environment, civic engagement, cooperation and civic participation
Grant Information
- Grants must be between 1,000,000 and 1,800,000 denars.
- Civic mobilitas reserves the right to change the amount requested (to reduce or increase within the above- day amounts).
Duration
The duration of the grants must be from 12 to 24 months
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for an action grant within this call, the applicant must be registered in Macedonia, to be:
- a civil society organization, registered in accordance with the Law on Associations and Foundations;
- non-profit scientific-research institution, registered in accordance with the Law on Scientific- research activity.
- As a good governance program, CIVICA mobilitas encourages behavior that is in accordance with the principles of good governance such as: the rule of law, transparency, rhetoric and accountability.
- Therefore, CIVICA mobilitas will give priority to applicants who prepared, submitted and published an annual narrative and financial report covering them the last three financial years (if applicable).
- Also, CIVICA mobilitas strongly encourages cooperation in the civil sector, such as for example through self-regulation and involvement in platforms and coalitions. Therefore, CIVICA mobilitas will give priority to applicants who have accepted and actively applied codes of good practice or other similar mechanisms applicable in the civil society sector. It will also give priority to applicants who support existing or new ones civic coalitions, networks and platforms. The growth of membership and volunteers will also is considered an added value.
