The Full Tummy Fund is seeking funding applications, the Fund focuses on initiatives that primarily target children from birth to 6 years of age, which are aimed at improving Early Childhood Development (ECD), not only by investing in educational programs, but also in programs that ensure these vulnerable children are nourished and safe.
The Full Tummy Fund is a program of the Spur Foundation and the vehicle used to invest in educational development and nutritional programs.
The Spur Foundation’s motto ‘Nourish, Nurture, Now!’ is reflected in the socio-economic development initiatives it supports. These initiatives aim to uplift and improve the lives of South African families, especially children, in line with its core value of generosity and Ubuntu.
Areas of Interest
The Full Tummy Fund’s major areas of interest are:
- Education
- Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centers and programs that train practitioners, upgrade facilities and offer skills development programs.
- Programs that encourage and include the parents in the development #of their children.
- Nutrition
- Programs or initiatives that support daily nutritional interventions for Early Childhood Centers catering to children from birth to 6 years of age.
- Welfare
- Organisations that run preventative programs on social issues facing our youth i.e. sexual abuse, road and pedestrian safety.
The Full Tummy Fund does not fund:
- Sponsorship of events
- Salaries / rent / office running costs
- International travel / school fees
- Medical costs
- Individuals
