The Embassy of France has launched its call for projects PISCA – Support Fund for Innovative Projects of Civil Society and Coalitions of Actors aimed at strengthening organizations from the Haitian civil society.
The PISCCA Fund – Innovative Projects of Civil Societies and Coalitions of Actors, Formerly known as the Social Development Fund (FSD) constitutes now the main tool in support of Haitian civil society supported by the Embassy of La France.
It is the privileged instrument of the Service of Cooperation and Cultural Action (SCAC) of the French Embassy to promote the strengthening, structuring and professionalization of organizations from Haitian civil society.
To achieve this, the PISCCA fund supports development projects on a priority basis. sustainable and economically viable in the long term , carried by social organizations (CSO) to increase their credibility as development actors and mobilization and proposals.
Goals
- Encourage local and sustainable development projects.
- Promote innovative initiatives promoted by civil society.
- Build the capacity of beneficiaries and civil society.
- Encourage networking and synergies between actors in the field.
Areas of Intervention
- Education and reinforcement of the French language and the Francophonie: the initiatives aimed at improving access to reading and writing, especially in a bilingual Creole / French approach is encouraged.
- Human Rights, Citizenship and Child Protection: Attention Particular attention will be given to projects combating violence against children and respect for their fundamental rights (identity, family, etc.).
- The environment and sustainable development: Issues related to waste management, the protection of the environment and deforestation are welcomed.
- Digital technologies and innovative solutions: CSOs will be valued trying to structure initiatives to develop sectoral projects thanks to digital technology (education, access to books, agriculture, etc.).
- Sport can be a tool of animation and an important vector of values, to through which the youth is mobilized to carry out awareness-raising activities (gender, disability, etc.).
Youth and the promotion of gender equality will be of concern transversal to these themes. Particular attention will be paid to the actions of advocacy.
Funding Information
- The project leader must, in addition, make a contribution of at least 10% of the amount total project in cash or financial valuation up to 70 000 €.
- In addition to a request for a grant of € 50,000, the project leader must justify that builds on existing partnerships and is able to carry out more projects large scale. For this purpose, the candidate CSO will provide, during the grant application, the verbal agreements, partnership agreements or letters from partners.
Eligibility Criteria
- Project leaders
- The PISCCA Fund is for Haitian civil society organizations – which the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs recognizes as “NGOs, foundations, cooperatives, professional associations, social partners (organizations unions and employers) as well as economic actors whose profit-making is limited (like social enterprises) .
- Project duration
- In the context of this call for projects, the duration of the projects will not have to be exceed 24 months.
- Geographical areas
- If many projects are supported by organizations working in the region metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince, particular attention will be paid to CSOs from province or projects implemented in the regions.
Selection Criteria
The selection of projects will be based on the combination of the following criteria:
- The constitution of a complete file.
- The quality and nature of the project.
- Adequacy with the priorities of the PISCCA fund.
