Deadline: 4 May 2020
Projects that serve development communication and education in Austria can be funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the agency for Austrian development cooperation.
The projects are based on the main topics of the current three-year program of Austrian development policy. The Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) form a basic framework for the projects.
Funding is given to projects that address the basic questions of global developments and the resulting global networking of Austria and are aimed primarily at multipliers in all socially relevant sectors, decision-makers in politics and business, and at the general public.
The funding framework continues to form the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this way, ADA wants to provide further impulses for the discussion and implementation of the sustainability goals. Projects in Austria are promoted, the global connections between society, economy and environment are made clear, as well as the necessary knowledge and competences to master the global and complex challenges and to competently shape sustainable development.
The topics of global learning / global citizenship education, gender equality, human rights, peace, global economy, sustainable development, environment and climate protection, responsible consumption and production methods are at the center of the funding. Backgrounds of current global developments are to be examined, the importance of the SDGs discussed, learning spaces and opportunities for action opened, engagement encouraged and new alliances between the various social actors and policy fields strengthened.
A particular funding priority is the topic of women / gender & development (SDG 5 – gender equality), The funding priority, which will continue in 2020, should focus on the diverse commitment of women worldwide to achieve the global goals / SDGs, but also shed light on the causes and backgrounds of gender-based discrimination. In particular, women / initiatives from the global south should be strengthened, and their important contributions to society and development made visible and audible. Stereotypes of male and female images should be counteracted, as well as differentiated perspectives, alternative narratives and viewpoints brought to the curtain. Dialogues, encounters, new alliances are to be initiated.
Priority is given to projects that are carried out in cooperation with partners outside the development policy area – in particular dialogue and network initiatives that initiate the participation of many / diverse stakeholders and particularly appeal to young people.
