The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Armenia calls to submit applications for the implementation of the projects of the Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme in Armenia in 2020.
The Embassy calls for submission of applications for the implementation of the following project concepts:
- Protection of environment and fight against climate change:
- Provide support to Armenian public institutions and non-governmental organizations in implementing environmental initiatives.
- Objectives:
- Implement waste management and recycling initiatives
- Raise public awareness on the importance of recycling
- Support restoration of green areas
- Support initiatives of socially responsible citizens in the sector of environment protection
- Transfer of Lithuania’s recycling experience
- Target group(s): Armenian civil society and public institutions acting in the environmental sector.
- Strengthening resilience to disinformation in Armenia:
- Strengthen resilience to disinformation of Armenian civil society and (or) strengthen strategic communication capacities of Armenian governmental institutions.
- Objectives:
- Strengthen the capacity of civil society, governmental institutions and media in Armenia to recognize and resist disinformation;
- To organize and implement information campaigns (in English, Russian and Armenian languages) on social networks for the purpose of deconstructing disinformation and presenting positive changes originating from the implementation of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to the public;
- To share Lithuania’s experience in strengthening independent media.
- Target group(s): Armenian civil society, Governmental communicators, independent media and creators of public opinion in Armenia
- Economic and Social Development of Armenian Rural Areas:
- Support to economic and social development of Armenian regional and rural areas with an emphasis on female engagement.
- Objectives:
- To increase the capacities of target groups to develop business initiatives as well as to gain more incomes through training and obtaining necessary equipment.
- Support initiatives of socially responsible citizens.
- To promote UN sustainable development goals in Armenia’s society (with the emphasis on gender equality, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, etc.) Communities of Armenian rural areas.
- Target group(s): Armenian civil society and public institutions acting in the environmental sector.
Financing will be provided for the projects that are in line with the Inter-Institutional Action Plan on Development Cooperation guidelines, adopted by Resolution No. 937 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on September 21, 2016 (Valid summary of Nov 15, 2017). Submitted applications for the projects must conform to the multilateral and/or bilateral strategic agreements between Armenia, EU and Lithuania, and/or national development strategies of Armenia.
Funding Information
A total of 27 000 EUR will be allocated to these projects in 2020.
Duration
Estimated duration of project implementation From April 2020 to October 2020.
Eligibility Criteria
- Legal entities and natural persons, other organizations and their subsidiaries of Republic of Lithuania and Armenia are invited to submit signed and scanned project applications and project estimates in Lithuanian or English.
- Applicant must specify at least one partner in Armenia and add the partner’s consent to cooperate on project implementation. A partner in Armenia is not obligatory if application for a project is being submitted by an entity registered in Armenia or by an international organization.
