Swiss Government project “For an Active Civil Society Together – ACT” is publishing a Call for Institutional Grants for civil society organisations in Serbia.
The aim of this call is to build effective and financially sustainable civil society organizations (hereinafter: organizations) that are accountable to citizens, mobilizing their support and representing their interests in decision-making and policy-making processes, especially at the local level. There is a strong focus on involving and mobilizing citizens, as well as establishing and connecting organizations with the base (constituency).
This call for institutional grants gives civil society organisations (CSOs) the opportunity to receive financial support for institutional strengthening, to develop and bolster their capacity to build and strengthen relations with their constituencies. This type of support can include various activities such as developing / upgrading organisational strategy, developing an organisational structure, developing fundraising tools, rulebooks, building and strengthening their constituency, and other activities that will help organisations complete their missions and accomplish core activities.
Supported CSOs will become beneficiaries of not only financial support for the institutional strengthening, but also of a specially designed and tailored programme for the development and capacity building and upgrading of skills and knowledge in many areas necessary for the further development of human and organisational resources.
Capacity building and development will include group trainings and individual mentoring aimed at facilitating and enhancing organizational development as well as enabling supported CSOs to become more involved with citizens and disseminate social influence in topics of relevance to local communities.
Key areas of action: citizen involvement and mobilization, monitoring of law and policy implementation, gender equality and related topics, social inclusion and marginalized groups, decentralization, human and civil rights, environmental protection and good governance.
The program focuses on three outcomes, the first of which is related to this Call:
