“la Caixa” Foundation has announced the Art for Change Call for Applications for running art projects involving active participation by people in situations of vulnerability in order to give them a voice, equal conditions and opportunities and make them visible in society through participation in a creative process.
The Art for Change “la Caixa” program takes into account the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations, focusing its action mainly on those most vulnerable groups, with the aim of facilitating their comprehensive development and promoting equality of opportunities and processes of social inclusion.
The purpose of the Art for Change “la Caixa” call is to support facilities, institutions, cultural entities and artists who want to develop artistic projects that involve the participation of groups in vulnerable situations or people from the same environment or neighborhood, with the aim of promoting processes of social transformation. At the same time that favor aspects for personal development, “la Caixa” can also help these groups to get involved in projects of artistic creation that contributes to the regeneration and improvement of coexistence in neighborhoods and communities.
Areas of Action
- Promotion of activities related to the plastic arts, photography, music, literature and stage arts as a resource for personal development and social inclusion.
- Encouraging the active role of participating groups and professionals from the world of culture in activities of a social nature.

Funding Information
- Aid not exceeding € 25,000 gross to carry out the project.
- The contribution for each of the approved projects, it cannot exceed 75% of the total cost of the project, and this percentage will be equivalent to an amount not exceeding € 25,000 as an application.
Eligibility Criteria
- The requesting cultural facilities, institutions or entities also they must meet the following requirements:
- Be legally constituted as cultural facilities, institutions or entities nonprofit;
- Have been registered in the corresponding registry with an antiquity minimum of one year at the time of presenting the call (except those Public Administration bodies).
- Be domiciled in Spanish territory.
- Contemplate, among the institutional objectives of the entity, the realization of activities related to the theme of the call. In this sense, they cannot those equipments, institutions or cultural entities present for the call whose institutional objective is to carry out activities of a social nature and / or assistance.
- Be up to date with tax and labor obligations.
- Applicant artists must also meet the following requirements:
- At the time of presenting this call, the equipment, institutions, entities Cultural or artists should also take into account the following:
- They can only submit a project to this call.
- No collaboration agreement may be in force with “la Caixa” linked to a call for Art for Change “la Caixa”.
- If they present projects through an individual request through the artist’s ID and through of a request for equipment or cultural entity of which they are part or in which collaborate regularly (or vice versa), it will be considered that it is the same equipment, cultural entity or artist, and the relevant requirements will apply. In this sense, for example, if the equipment, institution, cultural entity or artist already has a current collaboration agreement, the new request will be rejected (whether it is the same project as a different one).
- Each facility, cultural entity or artist must have correctly justified the aid granted by the “la Caixa” Foundation in previous years.
