Preventive Health SA is providing grants to assist eligible not-for-profit community and sporting organisations meet the requirements of the Automated External Defibrillators (Public Access) Act 2022 (the Act).
The South Australian Government is improving access to Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) across the state by making them mandatory in certain buildings, facilities and vehicles.
All not-for-profit community or sporting organisations that own buildings or facilities are encouraged to apply.
Funding Information
- One-off grants of $1,000 are available to eligible organisations to assist with the purchase of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved, multi-use AED.
- Preventive Health SA has a total funding pool of $3 million, over four rounds, available until December 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for the AED Grants Program, applicants must:
- be required to comply with the Act
- be the owner of the building or facility where the AED will be housed
- be located in South Australia
- be an incorporated not-for-profit club, association or organisation that is sport or community related
- have an active Australian Business Number (ABN)
- have public liability insurance with a minimum of $1 million per claim. Proof of eligibility will be required by uploading a Certificate of Currency.
Ineligible
- Grants cannot be provided to:
- individuals, government organisations or for-profit businesses
- organisations that are already fully compliant under the Act
- schools, tertiary institutions or education facilities
- organisations that lease their building/facility.
