The National River Care Fund (NRCF) returns for its 9th Cycle! Calling community groups, NGOs and educational institutions to apply for grants supporting projects on water and river care activities, pollution reduction initiatives and flood preparedness.
The National River Care Fund (NRCF) is established to support and fund river care initiatives by the local communities, organisations and learning institutions to pursue their own river conservation activities.
The National River Care Fund is an initiative established by Global Environment Centre (GEC) to support the implementation of river care initiatives.
The goals are to establish and encourage a river care civil society that has the capability to contribute and demonstrate the best management practices of river care in Malaysia as well as to support establishment and sustainability of community based water and river care programme in Malaysia.
Up to six (6) grants available for this Cycle aim to support projects focused on water and river care activities, pollution reduction initiatives, and flood preparedness.
Funding Information
- Community groups, NGOs and educational institutions are invited to apply up to RM5,000 from the NRCF.
Project Implementation
- The implementation of project should take place 15 days after signing the contract. Upon receiving the first installment of the fund, grantee is required to implement the proposed project activities within the first three (3) months
Eligibility Criteria
- National River Care Fund must be used for environmental purposes and there are a few minimum requirements that organisations must meet in order to be eligible for the grant.
- Eligible only for NGOs, CBOs, Residents Association, JKKK/(P), Schools/Education Institutions, other non-profit organisations and special interest groups who have interest in the management of their river basins.
- The grant must be used for projects located in Malaysia only.
