The Neelan Tiruchelvam Trust (NTT) has issued a call for proposals under strengthening community resilience of vulnerable groups in Sri Lanka.
Objectives
This call for proposals seeks to reduce poverty and inequality through building resilient communities to overcome structural causes, which in turn will empower vulnerable communities to fulfil their basic needs.
Programme Areas
The activities proposed should enable the communities to:
- Use and build upon existing resources and assistance including: financial, time, land, skills, relationships, networks, knowledge, etc.
- Interventions that provide assistance to use and build upon existing resources, including financial resources, land, skills, relationships, knowledge, etc.
- Lead their own development without external dependencies.
- Demonstrate sustainability beyond the project duration (sustainability includes dignity, confidence, trust, resourcefulness, and involvement of local people).
- Enhance grassroots capacity to identify community needs, make decisions, find solutions and take action on matters that are important to their development.
Funding Information
- NTT will award grants ranging from LKR 1,000,000 to LKR 3,000,000.
- The maximum duration of the grant period is 12 months
Eligibility Criteria
- Only one application per organisation will be accepted.
- Eligible recipients include duly registered community-based organisations (CBOs), local nongovernmental organisations (NGOs), local not-for-profit organisations, duly registered youth groups, federations, etc.
- Applicants should demonstrate prior experience in implementing similar activities.
- Organisations without a valid registration will not be considered.
- Sub-granting is not allowed.
- Grant applications from individuals will not be accepted.
- NTT will not consider applications received from government institutions/departments or organisations with political affiliations.
