The Cheltenham Borough Council is pleased to announce the Health and wellbeing grants to offer a pot of funding to support community-based projects, aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of local residents and the communities they live in.
The grant fund will provide much needed investment to support organisations working with individuals or communities who face health inequalities that may have been worsened by the pandemic and the current cost of living crisis.
Eligible Projects
- Projects, events and activities that will support people in at least one of the following ways:
- Leading more active lifestyles
- Accessing the natural environment
- Accessing a healthy and balanced diet
- Accessing cultural and creative opportunities.
- Being inclusive of the diverse communities, particularly those that they know are facing health inequalities
- They are also interested in projects that could meet one of the following specific requirements emerging from recent data.
- Community-based projects that can improve children’s dental health
- Community-based projects that can help people who are drinking too much
Priority Groups
- Individuals or communities that are facing health inequalities with a focus on projects that will support:
- The mental health and wellbeing of the children and young people
- People living on low incomes and who are at risk of becoming socially or financially isolated.
- People who are frail or at risk of becoming frail
What they will fund?
- Community-led projects that will help prevent health inequalities and help people feel more connected to the communities they live in or identify with.
