Deadline: 16-Nov-2025
This Special Window Call for Proposals aims to provide support to civil society organizations working on the frontline to assist victims of human trafficking in Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
The primary objectives of this grant program are to deliver direct assistance and protection to vulnerable trafficking victims, while also improving their health, well-being, and social integration to prevent re-trafficking.
The thematic focus of the call targets not-for-profit organizations that are dedicated to providing immediate and essential direct assistance to victims of trafficking. Priority will be given to projects that serve women, children, and underserved groups, including persons with disabilities, youth, LGBTQI+, refugees, internally displaced persons, indigenous communities, older adults, and ethnic minorities. The program emphasizes a survivor-centric approach and encourages projects that integrate innovative strategies and technologies to better support victims, including financial inclusion and economic empowerment for rehabilitation and reintegration.
Proposals are particularly encouraged for projects that focus on the early identification of trafficking victims, with a strong emphasis on trauma-informed responses for victims’ reintegration into society. The call also supports projects that address specific forms of exploitation such as sexual exploitation, forced labor, organ removal, domestic servitude, forced begging, forced criminality, forced marriage, production of pornography, recruitment of children into armed groups, and child trafficking in sports.
Key activities to be funded include medical assistance, material support (e.g., food and clothing), safe shelter, legal advice and representation, psychosocial support, education and vocational training, and family reunification or repatriation (with full victim consent). The initiative aims to strengthen existing victim protection frameworks through partnerships with state institutions, NGOs, service providers, international organizations, foundations, and private sector entities.
Project proposals must be completed within 24 months, with funding requests up to USD 40,000 considered for award. The selection process will assess proposals based on value for money and financial management capacity, ensuring that the budget does not exceed the applicant organization’s annual income.
To be eligible, applicants must be non-profit organizations (NGOs, CSOs, or CBOs) registered by December 2022 and have at least two years of experience working with trafficking victims or other vulnerable populations, such as internally displaced persons (IDPs) or forcibly displaced persons. Additionally, applicants must be registered in the UN Partner Portal (UNPP) and demonstrate a commitment to preventing sexual exploitation and abuse through appropriate measures.
This grant offers a significant opportunity for organizations working to combat human trafficking and support vulnerable populations in high-risk regions.
