Deadline: 31-Dec-2025
Applicants are now invited to submit applications for Pacific Permanent Secretariat to support projects in 2026 from the “Pacific Fund for Economic, Social and Cultural Cooperation”, known as the “Pacific Funds”.
This year’s priorities emphasize projects that deliver lasting, concrete results for beneficiary communities, particularly those involving light infrastructure with low maintenance requirements. The aim is to promote initiatives that create meaningful change and long-term benefits rather than short-term or event-based activities.
Projects centered on organizing symposiums or conferences, especially those primarily requesting funds for travel expenses, will not be prioritized. Instead, the focus is on practical, scalable projects that foster cooperation, resilience, and innovation within Pacific communities.
For 2026, eligible themes include sports as a means of strengthening ties and exchanges between Pacific territories and states, the development of the audiovisual sector, and the promotion of Francophonie. Additionally, projects aligning with the Strategic Plan 2022–2031 of the Pacific Community and the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent are strongly encouraged. These encompass key regional priorities such as climate resilience, food security, sustainable economies, public health, natural resource protection, improved connectivity, and social development.
A special emphasis will be placed on projects that engage and empower youth from French Pacific territories. This aligns with the cross-cutting goal of fostering young people’s regional involvement, including through international solidarity volunteering programs that encourage active participation in regional development.
Applicants must complete both a project sheet and a detailed budget form, as these documents are essential for the evaluation process. French Embassies and High Commissions in the Pacific territories are available to provide guidance and support throughout the application process.
To be eligible, proposals must include at least one of the three French Pacific territories—New Caledonia, French Polynesia, or Wallis and Futuna—in partnership with an independent Pacific State. Projects must also demonstrate co-financing, as the Pacific Fund contribution cannot exceed 50% of the total project cost.
This call for proposals represents an important opportunity to strengthen regional collaboration, support sustainable development, and advance shared goals across the Pacific, while placing communities and youth engagement at the heart of long-term progress.
