Deadline: 02-Jan-2026
The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) is now inviting nominations for its sixth annual “Award for Social Cohesion,” an initiative that celebrates outstanding contributions to social inclusion and solidarity across Europe.
In a tangible show of support to social entrepreneurs and social economy organisations in the CEB’s member countries, the Bank’s shareholders increased the amount of the prize from €25,000 to €45,000. In addition, another two shortlisted projects will receive €5,000 each.
This opportunity is open to individuals, community groups, non‑governmental organisations and social enterprises operating in any of CEB’s 43 member countries. The award particularly encourages projects that actively promote inclusion of vulnerable populations and foster positive social change in local settings.
An independent jury of experts will assess shortlisted nominations and select one winner and two runners‑up. Past winners have ranged from digital innovation addressing natural disaster recovery in Turkey, to creative heritage projects in Poland, showing the breadth of what can qualify under the banner of “social cohesion.” Winners not only receive the prize but also benefit from increased visibility, networking opportunities and recognition from a major European institution dedicated to social purpose.
For organisations or initiatives engaged in meaningful community work, this award presents an outstanding avenue to gain not only financial support but also validation and exposure. By highlighting effective local solutions that strengthen inclusion, solidarity and resilience, the CEB Award offers both a tangible prize and a platform for scaling impact and inspiring others across the continent.
