The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in partnership with Caritas Kosovo, AKTIV, and Centre for Communities Development is seeking applications for its project “Socio-economic inclusion of minority communities to support long term reconciliation”, funded by the British Embassy in Pristina.
The aim is to support social enterprises and local initiatives that will contribute towards better socio-economic inclusion of minority groups in Kosovo society by supporting various joint initiatives and fostering inter-ethnic business cooperation.
Funding Information
Awarded grants must be within the value range up to 30,000 euros.
Duration
Contract duration is at least 36 months.
Activities
- Under this project, social enterprise is defined as an initiative that applies sustainable business principals to achieve an underlying social and/or environmental mission, and utilizes profits to reinforce those social goals. This means that earned funds do not serve to increase the assets of individuals or profit – but instead are invested into socially useful purposes, such as providing employment for disadvantaged persons, providing social or educational services, or promoting environmental protection or cultural activities in the community etc.
- Initiatives that generate employment and enhance opportunities for disadvantage or vulnerable groups, with an emphasis on ethnic minorities, women and youth.
- Initiatives that bridge and connect disadvantaged groups with the wider community
- Initiatives that promote social, economic, or cultural interactions between all ethnic groups
- Initiatives that introduce new services or expand production for the benefit of the entire community.
