Deadline: 23-Sep-21
Applications are now open for the René & Karin Jonckheere Fund to safeguard movable cultural heritage, paying particular attention to the conservation or restoration of works of art highlighting Brussels’ European dimension.
The Fund understands ‘movable heritage’ in the broad sense of the term (paintings, sculptures, tapestries, works on paper, and so on). The condition of the work in question must require treatment.
The Fund’s resources may not be used to cover structural staff costs (guards, guides, event organisers, etc.). Any application that is attuned to current events (exhibitions, research, and so forth) will benefit from preferential consideration.
Funding Information
- Amount: up to € 60.000
Eligibility Criteria
- The works in question will normally be kept in museums in Brussels. However, the Fund could be used to conserve works kept in museums and libraries elsewhere in Europe.
Selection Criteria
The following criteria will guide the exam of the applications:
- the work’s or the artist’s European dimension ;
- the urgency of the steps required to conserve the work ;
- the importance of the work in art history ;
- potential for showcasing the work (exhibition, conference, colloquium, etc.) ;
- the value of the project as an example to be followed ;
- the extent to which the project fits in with the objectives of the Fund.
