The European Economic Area (EEA) Grants is seeking applications for its program entitled “Energy Efficiency” with an aim of improving the energy efficiency in industry, with SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) as the target group.
The programme will also cater for increased awareness in relation to energy efficiency measures. The aim is to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and air pollutants.
Reducing energy consumption and eliminating energy wastage are among the main goals of the EU. In accordance with the Climate and Energy Package adopted by the European Parliament, the aim is to improve energy efficiency by 20%. This target is to be achieved by 2020.
Support Areas
The programme supports projects that will deliver results relating to:
- 20 Small and Medium sized Enterprises with reduced energy consumption resulting from energy efficiency measures
- Extended experience at local level in promoting viable projects in the field of energy efficiency
- 5 publicity events targeting 100 Small and Medium sized Enterprises relevant for energy efficiency measures
Funding Information
There will be one call for project proposal, with funding in the range of €200,000 to €700,000.
Eligibility Criteria
Small and Medium sized Enterprises registered in Romania are eligible to apply as project applicants.
