The City of Canning has announced the applications for Enriching Canning Grants in Australia to support activities which provide an inclusive, safe and vibrant community in the City of Canning.
Objectives
Proposals are to be aligned with any of the following Strategic Community Plan 2017/2027 objectives:
- varied and accessible community events, services and facilities
- flourishing art and culture
- aboriginal culture is respected
- diverse cultures and beliefs are respected
- high levels of participation in community groups, clubs and organisations
- community groups with capacity to meet members needs and grow as needed
- collaboration and partnerships make better use of limited resources and facilities
- clean and safe public spaces
- improved health and wellbeing
- an environmentally aware, motivated and well-informed community.
Funding Information
- Maximum Grant available: $5,000
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must reside, be located and/or operate in the City of Canning. Not for profit organisations, excluding sporting clubs, which have offices outside Canning but deliver services to Canning residents may apply. Activities must take place within the City of Canning boundaries.
- Individuals must:
- Demonstrate support from a Canning based not-for-profit organisation e.g. letter of support towards the proposal.
- Ensure the activity does not lead to any private business benefits.
- Gift any equipment to the supporting not-for-profit organisation following the completion of the activity.
- Primary and Secondary Schools must:
- Be able to demonstrate the wider community benefit in proposals. Activities are to be held outside of school hours or where activities are held during school hours, the wider community must be able to attend and benefit. Equipment solely for the use of students and teachers is not eligible as this is best funded by other Government Departments.
Ineligible
The following are ineligible for grant funding:
- Political parties and activities of a political nature.
- Government departments and agencies and
- Applicants that have an outstanding grant acquittal with the City of Canning, unless there is evidence of exceptional circumstances which are approved by the Chief Executive Officer.
