Amref Health Africa in Kenya is inviting eligible organizations for its Kenya Sanitation and Hygiene Improvement Programme (K-SHIP) to support the country to attain sustainable access to basic sanitation as well as adopt appropriate hygiene practices. The main programme components include:
- Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion
- Equity & Inclusion
- Sanitation Marketing
Categories of Implementers
- Non-Governmental Organizations
- Regional Civil Society Organizations
- Private organizations/companies (involved in sanitation and hygiene products)
- Community Based Organizations
- Faith Based Organizations
Eligibility Criteria
- Amref Health Africa in Kenya invites organizations with at least 3 years’ experience in implementing sanitation and hygiene programmes/projects to submit a 2 year technical proposal, a budget and a work-plan for consideration.
- Eligible organizations should meet the following criteria:
- Experience in implementing activities in non-subsidy sanitation and hygiene promotion related interventions
- Experience in participatory methodologies and community empowerment
- Strong linkages to communities in which the organisation proposes to implement activities
- Strong organisational governance and management structures
- Sound financial management capacity and internal control systems
- Technical capacity to plan, organise, implement and report on projects
- Adequate number of skilled staff
