The Kittatinny Ridge Conservation Landscape (KRCL) is offering 2021-2022 Mini-Grant Program for organizations, businesses, agencies, academic institutions, and municipalities working together with one voice and one goal—to protect the globally important and locally cherished KRCL.
KRCL Goals
- Identify and protect biologically important land and open space to advance wildlife and water conservation along the Ridge.
- Build community identification with, and ownership in, the Kittatinny Ridge as a critical / valued natural asset.
- Collaborate with counties, municipalities, and other organizations along the Ridge to contribute to their collective understanding of the ecological, economic, recreational, and social values of protecting the Ridge and advance the adoption of land-use, sustainability and climate resiliency plans, and programs and policies which foster its natural health.
- Promote science as a basis for the Coalition’s recommendations / actions by enlisting support from academicians and scientists who generate research that is relevant to the Ridge as a Conservation Landscape and to the goals of the Coalition.
- Develop and clarify Coalition roles and operational processes to ensure progress on the goals articulated in this Plan and the protection of the KRCL.
- Create and adopt fiscal management and budgeting procedures to align grant allocations and other potential funding with Coalition priorities.
Funding Information
- The Kittatinny Coalition awards annual grants up to $ 10,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations with tax-exempt status 501 (c) (3), municipalities, and educational institutions.
- Non-profit organizations must submit proof of non-profit status and be registered with the PA Department of State Bureau of Charitable Organizations.
- Current DCNR Partnerships Program grant recipients are discouraged from applying for or receiving KRCL Mini-Grants.
- All application projects must support the KRCL’s strategic goals, and projects and their impacts must be located within the KRCL Corridor.
- Grants will not be awarded for expenses related to: recurring maintenance or monitoring; maintenance of existing structure or construction or rehabilitation of structures that are not directly related to preservation or restoration of natural resources; permanent staff employees; property easement or acquisition activities.
