The U.S. Embassy Bridgetown is currently inviting civil society organizations (including academic institutions and coalitions/networks) from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Vincent and Grenadines to submit concept papers to strengthen and promote the human rights of LGBTI persons.
All concept papers must be accompanied by a budget detailing work plan costs and three past project references which demonstrate the ability to implement the proposed concept. Organizations must already be incorporation and be able to demonstrate an existing stream of funding upon request.
Funding Information
Applications may range from $5,000-$25,000, and the maximum duration of each project should be 18 months.
Examples of Previously Successful Project Objectives
- Introduction of anti-discrimination legislation or steps toward repeal of discriminatory legislation;
- Establishment of diverse coalitions that support those human rights of LGBTI persons;
- Activities to raise awareness and facilitate dialogue with diverse stakeholders, adversaries, and potential allies;
- Activities to sensitize media practitioners.
How to Apply
Submitted concept papers should be a maximum of two pages and clearly define:
- Opportunities or needs to be addressed;
- Objectives of the project;
- Outline of the activities by objective or work plan.
