The project Med Pearls is issuing calls for proposals for sub-grants, aimed at the creation of new Slow Tourism products in the pilot areas of the project in Egypt, Jordan and Palestine.
This Call for Proposals is exclusively open to Destination Management Companies (DMCs) / Incoming Travel Agencies. The Objective of the Call for Proposals is to provide the technical and financial support to the most solid and innovative initiatives coming from Mediterranean DMCs aiming at the creation of new Slow Tourism products in the Med Pearls pilot areas from the 6 project countries.

- Egypt: The Objective of this CfP is to provide technical and financial support to the most solid and innovative initiatives coming from DMCs for the creation of new Slow Tourism products in Egypt Med Pearls Pilot Areas:
- Pilot Area 1: El-Montazah
- Pilot Area 2: Lakes Mariout and Edku
- Palestine: The Objective of this CfP is to provide technical and financial support to the most solid and innovative initiatives coming from DMCs for the creation of new Slow Tourism products in Country Med Pearls Pilot Areas:
- Pilot Area 1: Jenin
- Pilot Area 2: Bethlehem
- Jordan: The Objective of this CfP is to provide technical and financial support to the most solid and innovative initiatives coming from DMCs for the creation of new Slow Tourism products in Country Med Pearls Pilot Areas:
- Pilot Area 1: Al Salt
- Pilot Area 2: Deir Alla
Funding Information
- The overall indicative amount made available under this call for sub-grant proposals is EUR 60.000,00€. The contracting authority responsible for the Call reserves the right not to award all available funds.
- Size of sub-grants
- Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- minimum amount: EUR10.000,00 €
- maximum amount: EUR20.000,00 €
- The proposed actions are expected to be completed within a maximum period of 6 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the applicant must:
- be a legal entity and
- be a legally constituted Incoming Travel Agency / DMCs and
- Have proven capacity to operate in the specific pilot area targeted in their proposal and
- be established in one of the ENI Programme eligible areas or adjoining territories and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action, not acting as an intermediary and
- not be recipient of State Aid through other grants or financing support from national governments or the European Union in excess of 200.000 euro over a period of three years. In this regard, a De minimis declaration is to be signed and submitted by applicants from an EU Member State, Egypt or Jordanas.
- In addition to these requirements,the applicant must prove that the new Slow Tourism product (Pearl) covers the critical elements of the tourism value chain in the Pilot Area which are deemed essential to deliver a solid, robust and innovative Slow Tourism experience.
- Therefore, the applicant must list in their application at least 5 tourism companies/service providers from the pilot area (related to accommodation, Slow Tourism experiences, transportation, gastronomy, culture, etc.) proposed to be part of the final product.
