UN Women seeks for organization to provide support (including humanitarian, psychological, legal, informational and other support) to protect and empower the women and girls affected by the war and internally displaced to the Western oblasts of Ukraine, as well as provide capacity development support to the war affected women and women’s CSOs to meaningfully participate in decision making and advocate for their needs to be incorporated in the policies and programmes on the conflict resolution and humanitarian aid.
Focus Areas
- Immediate safety threats, such as lack of access to shelters.
- A lack of basic necessities, such as food, medicine, hygiene articles, accommodation, water, and access to power and connectivity.
- The loss of livelihood, including people’s inability to work and earn an income.
- Psychological impact of war and constant fear is taking a heavy toll on people.
- Sexual and gender-based violence in public and private spaces is not being prevented or responded to adequately.
- Lack of communication, information, and social services, including lack of legal aid, gaps in childcare services and access to social services needed by vulnerable groups.
- Exclusion from planning and decision-making at all levels, and not having the opportunity to participate in the humanitarian response planning and peace / security efforts.
Funding Information
- The budget range for this proposal should be up to USD 120,000.00 max.
Competencies
- Technical/functional competencies required
- The organization has a well-developed framework through which to deliver its vision and strategy and ensure effective business processes;
- Previous experience in conducting similar works/projects relevant to the scope and size of the current project;
- Previous experience of work with different vulnerable groups on their capacity building and empowerment;
- Previous experience of organization of trainings on gender equality and women’s empowerment and the rights of vulnerable groups;
- Previous experience in conducting gender/human rights advocacy and awareness raising campaigns at national, regional and local levels;
- Previous experience of work at the regional and local level and coordination of cooperation between different groups and organizations;
- Capacity to be fully operational and perform the TOR in the conditions of war in Ukraine;
- Reference letters on at least two relevant projects implemented in the past three years.
- Other competencies, which while not required, can be an asset for the performance of services
- Previous experience of development of training materials on gender equality and women’s empowerment and women’s rights;
- Previous experience of provisions of tailored services for vulnerable groups.
