The EU4Moldova: Key Regions program, funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), hereby announces a call for grant projects for clusters and invites all institutions / eligible entities from the two key Regions, Ungheni and Cahul.
The non-reimbursable assistance aims to promoting and encouraging the cooperation spirit among the companies from urban and rural areas by supporting innovative ideas and the creation of new jobs. The grants are awarded by the European Union through the “EU4Moldova: Focal regions” Programme implemented by UNDP and UNICEF.
Purposes
- The general objective of the EU4Moldova Program: Key Regions is to strengthen economic, territorial and social cohesion in the Republic of Moldova by facilitating smart, green, inclusive, sustainable and integrated socio-economic local development and improving the living standards of citizens in key regions: Cahul and Ungheni.
- To achieve this major goal, the EU4Moldova: Key Regions Program aims, among other things, to address the urban-rural gap and regional disparities, stimulate economic growth, create jobs for men, women and young people in key regions and improve the attractiveness of regions. Key for investors and entrepreneurs through the development of clusters in the region.
- The development of clusters focuses on attracting, emerging new businesses and prospering existing companies. The EU4Moldova: Key Regions program aims to support and improve business, stimulate existing companies for cluster cooperation, and create new investment opportunities in the region.
- Special attention will be paid to projects that will address social needs and improve the local economic environment. The initiatives will also focus on stimulating the efficient use of resources by moving to a clean and circular economy, restoring biodiversity and reducing pollution.
Funding Information
- The European Union offers €800,000 for eight entities of Cahul and Ungheni regions, to support clustering initiatives.
- Up to 4 entities in each region will receive financial assistance not exceeding 100,000 EUR per project;
- Duration: Proposals to be submitted in this call must include activities, which will be carried out within 12 months from the date of award of the grant agreement.
Eligibility Criteria
- The proposal is submitted by a registered non-profit organization and operates in one of the districts of Cahul or Ungheni;
- Experience of at least 5 years of the management team in the administration and implementation of similar projects in the sector to which it applies, confirmed by the CVs of at least 2 persons responsible for the realization of the project proposal;
- The applicant submitted a single project proposal;
- The project proposal provides for the mandatory monetary contribution – at least 10% of the value total project;
- The cluster management entity, ensures the critical mass of geographical concentration and includes partners in the public, private (minimum 6 private member companies), research (minimum 1) and associative (minimum 1) fields;
- At the date of application there are no arrears from the national public budget;
- Not in the process of liquidation, litigation or unresolved conflicts (including between members);
