The Aga Khan Trust for Culture’s Silk Road Cultural Initiative (SRCI) is currently accepting proposals from eligible entities for its Arts Grants with an aim to support civil society organisation and individuals who are engaged in the production, promotion, conservation and dissemination of Afghanistan’s intangible cultural heritage.
The programme will support initiatives that:
- Enable, enhance and strengthen diverse culture values encouraging peaceful dialogue
- Contribute to the cultural growth of Afghanistan
- Support and improve creative industries
Grant Information
- Grants will be range between $1,000 and $7,000.
- Applications who foresee projects exceeding $7,000 are encouraged to get in touch with the SRCI staff with an Expression of Interest.
Eligibility Criteria
- They are inclusive and open to all non- governmental organisations, individuals, members of civil society and young cultural practitioners are particularly encouraged to apply.
- Organisations, individuals, festival, artists, youth and women are all encouraged to apply for the Grant.
- At least one person on the team has to be 17 years of age or older.
- Anyone applying as an individual must be 17 years or older.
- Applicants should have filled the Survey of Cultural Organisations in Afghanistan to be eligible for this grant.

Projects funded by the Silk Cultural Initiative may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Works of Art
- Festivals
- Performance
- Exhibitions
