Deadline: 7 July 2017
The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai (PAS Mumbai) is seeking proposals for a project to implement a one-day “Gender Mela” in September 2017.
Mumbai is home to numerous non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working to advance women’s safety, empowerment, and equality. However, they often lack opportunities to network and engage with each other in order to partner and build on synergies. The proposed “Gender Mela” will close that gap through a one-day networking event for NGOs and others working on women’s issues.
The U.S. Consulate General strongly supports initiatives that promote women’s social and economic development, integrate women into peace and security building, address and prevent gender-based violence, and ensure women’s full participation in civic and political life.
