Deadline: 11-Nov-22
Applicants are invited to submit their applications for 2023 AGISP Small Grant Funding: School Excursions.
The proposed excursion will increase student exposure to agribusiness concepts and industries, and enhance their interest in further study or a career in agriculture. The proposed excursion should link directly with projects being undertaken by STEM (not only agribusiness) students to demonstrate the wide variety of careers available in agriculture
The Agribusiness Gateway to Industry Schools Project (AGISP) educates and encourages students to become part of tomorrow’s agriculture workforce. The project encompasses a variety of projects and pilots with industry-focused learning opportunities for students and teachers. AGISP aims to help young people make a successful transition from school into further education and/or employment in agriculture-related industries.
School-based agriculture programs are supported by more than 200 industry partners and more than 30 Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) staff state-wide, including extension officers, scientists, project officers and biosecurity officers acting as mentors to teachers.
