Applications are open for the “Volunteer Challenge” that is a competition of voluntary actions implemented by all people of good will who want to make positive changes in their environment. The challenge aims to inspire and encourage people from the Balkans to create social change through the process of civic engagement and lifelong participation in volunteer programs.
Volunteer challenge was launched in 2017 for the first time by the Regional Volunteer Center (RVC). RVC is a voluntary network of volunteer organizers from the territory of South Banat, which affirms and promotes active and positive role of volunteering in society through the development of voluntary programs and evaluating and rewarding volunteer work.
Focus Areas
Voluntary action can be in the following areas:
- prevention of addiction
- social activities for children and young people
- care for the elderly
- culture and art
- protection of the environment
- protection and care of animals
- care for the homeless
- care for persons with developmental disabilities
- support to refugees
- mentoring and counseling
Award Information
On the occasion of International Volunteer Day on 5 December at the traditional fair of volunteering organized by the Regional Volunteer Center and the town of Pancevo. Winners of the Volunteer Challenge in 2017 will be declared and awarded vouchers to the value of 75,000 dinars.
Eligibility Criteria
Individuals, informal groups, associations of citizens and companies that have implemented voluntary action on the territory of Serbia in the period from 1 November 2016 to 1 October 2017, can participate in the challenge.
