The Human Development Innovation Fund of Tanzania (HDIF) is a challenge Fund that provides grants for innovations in education, health and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) across Tanzania.
The Fund was established by DFID in order to address the need of increase in quality of services and the quality of outcomes in for Tanzania to reduce poverty and further its development.
HDIF seeks to catalyze the development, testing, and scaling of innovative models of service delivery, information and communication technologies for development (ICT4D), and product solutions.
HDIF’s mission is to create social impact through innovation in education, health and WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) by supporting innovators through a challenge fund and expert assistance. It envisions developing a Tanzania that embraces and actively promotes, supports and utilizes innovation.
