CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness is inviting CSOs from across the globe and across many sectors for its Nairobi Global Civil Society Forum (NCSF) in order to develop a collective strategy around the priority issues for HLM2 and beyond.
From 28 November to 1 December 2016, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) will meet in Nairobi, Kenya to prepare for the Second High Level Ministerial Meeting of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC HLM2).
The CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness (CPDE) gears toward EDC guided by human rights and democratic ownership, it has reiterated the need to renew and raise the bar of commitments on the core business of quantity and quality of official development assistance (ODA) as per Paris, Accra, Busan and Mexico.
There is a possibility of eight workshops running in parallel during each session with a total of sixteen (16) workshops for the entire CSO Forum. The number of participants can range from 30 to 100 depending on the results of registration. Workshop organisers wishing to host an event of more than one session can request to do so, but it will be subject to space availability.
Priority Issues
Priority will be given to workshop proposals focusing on issues that aim to enrich CSO positions on the
- Effective development cooperation (EDC)
- Development effectiveness
- Core/unfinished business of Accra, Paris, Busan, and Mexico
- The Agenda 2030 and “Leaving No One Behind” (LNOB)
- Private sector
- Security, peace, and development
- Migrants and refugee issues among other focus themes.
