The Media Development Center for Media and Civil Society “Mediacentar” from Sarajevo has announced a call for submission of project proposals aimed at building the capacity of civil society organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina to promote the practices and policies of media and information literacy at the local level.
This Call for Proposals is part of the regional project Media for Citizens – Citizens for the Media, supported by the European Union in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
The Call for Proposals is open to civil society organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina dealing with media, education, advocacy, public campaigns and arts, or the development of digital innovative projects.
Which projects will be supported?
Support will be given to two types of projects:
- LOT 1: Projects for improving the skills of media and information literacy of citizens
- LOT 2: Creative Innovation – Projects in the field of artistic, media production and production in the field of information technologies that promote innovation and accessibility in education from media and information literacy
Funding Information
- The total budget for this call for proposals is 20,000 euros, of which 10,000 euros for each lot. The budget for individual projects must be between 3,000 and 5,000 euros.
- The duration of the proposed projects should be between 6 and 12 months. Activities can begin on the day of signing the contract and should be completed by the end of May of the year at the latest.
Eligibility Criteria
- The call is open to CSOs from Bosnia and Herzegovina – professional associations, advocacy groups, community media, start-up incubators registered as CSOs, art societies, CSOs that promote equal opportunities (such as youth, elderly, minorities, ethnic groups, etc.).
- The right of application has:
- Legal entities – non-profit organizations, independent of all local and regional governments, public entities, political parties and religious institutions;
- CSOs active for at least a year (12 months prior to the deadline for receiving applications), as evidenced by the Registration Decision;
- CSOs that have experience in successful implementation of projects related to one or more areas: media, education, advocacy, public campaigns, production of art programs, development of digital innovative projects (at least one reference project in the last 3 years).
- The application can also be submitted in partnership. The applicant must fulfill all three conditions mentioned above, while co-applicants (project partners) should fulfill at least the condition under point 1. Each co-applicant must sign a Statement entitling the applicant to submit the application and sign the contract. The applicant will sign a sub-contract on behalf of the entire partnership.
