The European Commission is seeking proposals from organizations to enhance the sustainability of civil society in Georgia.
The objective of the program is to provide operating grants for well-established Georgian NGOs:
- to ensure the performance of their core functions,
- to facilitate their financial sustainability
- to transfer their knowledge to smaller CSOs in the regions of Georgia.
Priorities
- Enabling environment for civil society, including financial sustainability,
- CSOs accountability to target groups,
- Promotion of reforms in the context of EU association process,
- Advocacy and oversight,
- Socio-Economic and/or socio-cultural rights.
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between EUR 100 000 to EUR 150 000.
Location
Work programme must take place in the following country: Georgia, including minimum two regions of Georgia (except for Abkhazia and South Ossetia).
Duration
The initial planned duration of a work programme may not be lower than 12 months nor exceed 12 months, starting on 01/01/2017.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for a grant, the applicant must:
- be a legal person and
- be non-profit-making and
- be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation and
- be officially established/registered in2 Georgia for at least five years at the time of submission of the Application and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the work programme, not acting as an intermediary and
- be organisations whose aims and objectives declared in its statute or other official document establishing the organisation are focussed at least on one of the selected priority areas.
