Applications are open for 2017 Australian Ethical Community Grants program to provide financial support to not-for-profit organisations that contribute to humanitarian, environmental, and animal welfare efforts in Australia and abroad.
Focus Areas
- People
- Applications from organisations that focus on people who are experiencing extreme levels of distress, disadvantage, vulnerability, or poverty within their community or family are encouraged. Initiatives led by people experiencing vulnerability themselves are especially welcome.
- The Planet
- Applications from organisations that aim to protect and enhance the natural environment by undertaking initiatives related to the following charitable purposes are encouraged.
- Animals
- Applications from organisations that aim to improve animal welfare, rescue injured animals, and protect endangered species and their habitat are encouraged.
Funding Information
- Grants are for $10,000 and $20,000.
- Preference is for the grant money to be spent within one year of receipt.
Eligibility Criteria
- Grants are offered to not-for-profit organisations and registered charities based in Australia.
- Organisations working for a charitable purpose for the benefit of people, animals, and/or the planet in Australia or internationally are encouraged to apply.
- New and emerging or small not-for-profit groups are eligible to apply as long as they have an Australian Business Number (ABN), a constitution, and an Australian bank account.
