Deadline: 30-Sep-2025
The Youth Hub for Western Balkans and Türkiye Network brings together 68 youth and youth-focused organizations from across the region.
By collecting data on youth, monitoring their participation, and supporting policy changes, the Network strives to improve the role of young people in political, economic, and social life.
Despite representing a large share of the population in these countries, young people face barriers that prevent their meaningful engagement. Many struggle with limited job opportunities, inadequate education, and poverty. Vulnerable groups, such as young women, Roma youth, those with disabilities, and NEET youth, are often excluded from opportunities altogether. The 2023 Youth Participation Index underscored these challenges, showing persistent underrepresentation in politics, high poverty risks, and significant gender gaps in employment and entrepreneurship.
This call for proposals aims to strengthen the Network by supporting small and medium local non-governmental organizations that are actively working to increase youth participation. The goal is to empower organizations that focus on under-represented and marginalized groups, helping them bring forward innovative solutions. The call has two streams of funding: LOT 1, which offers grants up to EUR 8,000 to strengthen the capacities of existing Network members, and LOT 2, which provides grants up to EUR 5,000 to help smaller, local CSOs join the Network and expand youth participation initiatives.
Projects funded through this call must take place in North Macedonia and run for between six and twelve months. Selected applicants will also receive capacity-building support, including training in financial and operational management of EU-funded projects, mentoring sessions, and participation in national and regional network meetings. Alongside funding, this additional support ensures organizations are better prepared to deliver sustainable and impactful projects for young people.
Through this initiative, the Network continues to advance its mission of empowering youth, strengthening civil society, and promoting inclusive participation across the Western Balkans and Türkiye.
