The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation is seeking applications for its Emergency Initiative to support the populations of Sudan affected by the conflict in order to guarantee essential life-saving services.
The initiative aims to deliver urgent, life-saving assistance while promoting long-term stability through localized, people-centered responses. Project proposals are now being accepted from eligible non-profit organizations to contribute to this vital humanitarian effort.
This initiative aligns with the HRP’s strategic objectives, particularly focusing on the most vulnerable populations. Strategic Objective 1 seeks to reduce mortality and morbidity by ensuring the delivery of timely, gender-responsive humanitarian assistance in areas with the most severe needs or risk of deterioration. Meanwhile, Strategic Objective 2 is centered on addressing the protection needs of women, men, girls, and boys—especially those most marginalized. This includes specialized services for survivors of violence, people with disabilities, and displaced individuals. The goal under this objective is to reach 14.3 million people with multi-sectoral interventions that improve living conditions and protect basic rights.
In addition, Strategic Objective 3 focuses on ensuring safe, equitable, and dignified access to essential services for vulnerable communities. This objective aims to prevent further erosion of coping capacities for an estimated 4.3 million people.
Projects funded under this Call for Proposals must be directly aligned with these strategic goals and reflect a conflict-sensitive approach, adhering to the principle of “Do No Harm.” All proposed activities should also comply with the Joint Operating Principles (JOPs) set by the Humanitarian Country Team, including mechanisms to ensure early participation from local communities and uphold Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP).
Eligible non-profit entities may apply for funding up to EUR 408,513.00 per project. The maximum duration for implementation is four months. Organizations submitting proposals must indicate whether their projects are part of the HRP 2025 and, if applicable, include the project code assigned through the Humanitarian Project Cycle (HPC) Module, allowing proper tracking within OCHA’s Financial Tracking System (FTS)
