The European Commission is currently accepting proposals from eligible organisations for “Innovation and Change in Education VII” with an aim to enhance education and lifelong learning opportunities in the northern part of Cyprus, with a more holistic approach to allow for full participation of individuals in society, as well as allowing for innovation and creativity, and promotion of skills and “key competencies” which are vital in a knowledge based society.
The programme is divided into two lots:
- Lot 1: Innovation and Change in Schools
- Improving the quality and efficiency of education and training
- Improving child-centred learning capacity with focus on key competencies
- Improving teaching capacity in line with global and EU trends through teacher’s training programmes
- Promoting equity, social cohesion and active citizenship
- Fostering further learning, active citizenship and intercultural dialogue
- Promoting joint projects between Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot schools in order to foster reconciliation between the two communities
- Lot 2: Improving Employability
- Making lifelong learning a reality
- to contribute to competitiveness and employability
- Enhancing Entrepreneurship
- Improving entrepreneurial skills by enhancing creativity and innovation, at all levels of education and training
- Making lifelong learning a reality
- Improving the quality and efficiency of education and training
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- Lot 1:
- minimum amount: EUR 30,000
- maximum amount: EUR 100,000
- Lot 2:
- minimum amount: EUR 50,000
- maximum amount: EUR 200,000
Eligibility Criteria
- For Lot 1 Innovation and Change in Schools:
- be a legal person and
- be non-profit-making and
- be established in the northern part of Cyprus and
- be a pre-primary, primary, secondary school, a vocational education and training (VET) school or a teachers training academy and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary and
- have not been awarded a grant under the Innovation and Change in Education VI either as the lead applicant or as a co-applicant
- Potential applicants may not participate in calls for proposals or be awarded grants if they are in any of the situations
- The lead applicant must declare that the lead applicant himself, the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies) are not in any of these situations.
- The lead applicant may act individually or with co-applicant(s).
- For Lot 2 Improving Employability:
- be a legal person and
- be non-profit-making and
- be established in the northern part of Cyprus and
- be a non-governmental organisation, association, foundation, chamber, union or a vocational education and training (VET) school and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary and
- have not been awarded a grant under the Innovation and Change in Education VI either as the lead applicant or as a co-applicant.
- Potential applicants may not participate in calls for proposals or be awarded grants if they are in any of the situations
- The lead applicant must declare that the lead applicant himself, the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies) are not in any of these situations.
- The lead applicant may act individually or with co-applicant(s).
