The Coca-Cola Australia Foundation (CCAF) has announced a 2019 Flagship Partner Grant Program – Environmental Sustainability with a focus on marine pollution.
Issue to be addressed
Globally marine pollution in both the ocean and inland waterways is one of the most pressing environmental concerns of their time. This grant opportunity focuses on Australian coastal and inland waterways.
In the application organisations must:
- Propose a program that addresses the issue of marine pollution in coastal and / or inland waterways in Australia;
- Demonstrate how this program is a creative solution for protecting and enhancing waterway sustainability; and
- Demonstrate how this program will help address the UN Sustainable Development Goal.
Grant Information
The Coca-Cola Australia Foundation Flagship Partner Program grants are a three-year partnership providing up to $200,000 per annum.
Life Below Water
By 2025, prevent and significantly reduce marine pollution of all kinds, in particular from land-based activities, including marine debris and nutrient pollution.
The purpose of this Sustainable Development Goal is to sustainably manage and protect marine and coastal ecosystems from pollution, with as much as 40% of the ocean heavily affected by pollution and impacts of other human activities.
Eligible Project
The project will:
- Be a BIG idea with COURAGE to demonstrate how the project could be scalable for the future;
- Have a national/regional footprint and be applying for an exclusively Australianbased project;
- Have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR 1) status;
- Have clear and deliverable goals consistent with the areas to be addressed;
- Have the ability to measure both outputs (the numbers) and outcomes (the stories of how they are making a difference, and the long-term positive impact on environmental sustainability);
- Have a vision for long-term sustainability after the CCAF funding ends. Funding is only available for the successful applicant for up to 3 years – and Annual Acquittal Reports are required to release subsequent annual grant payments;
- They want to support their partners and they will work with them to:
- Collaboratively create a shared value project
- Share stories along the way, including via traditional and social media channels
- Offer meaningful opportunities for engagement to their employees around Australia
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants proposed program needs to:
- be delivered within Australia;
- provide an opportunity for Coca-Cola Australia and Coca-Cola Amatil staff to be engaged
- propose the Coca-Cola Australia Foundation (CCAF) as the principal partner
- Applicants proposed program cannot seek funds for:
- activities that collect funds for subsequent redistribution to other charities or individuals
purchase of land or buildings - overseas appeals or projects undertaken outside of Australia
- expeditions or overseas travels
- activities that collect funds for subsequent redistribution to other charities or individuals
- If applicants organisation is successful, applicant accept that:
- applicant will be required to sign the Flagship Partner Agreement
- the maximum period of the grant is for a maximum of 3 years
- applicant will not be able to re-apply to CCAF until a further three years after the acquittal of the grant
