UNCDF and UNIDO are inviting proposals from NGOs and CSOs to support local communities in the management of risks linked to environmental degradation through measures to adapt to climate change in areas at risk of inter-community conflicts.
The project ‘Support for the management of risks linked to environmental degradation through adaptation measures in areas at risk of inter-community conflicts’ – financed by the UN Peace Building Fund. It is implemented in partnership with the local communities of Dandougou Fakala (circle of Djené) and Pignari Bana (circle of Bandiagara) in the region of Mopti and Sandaré and Simby (circle of Kayes) in the region of Kayes.
The project uses existing funding mechanisms in favor of targeted local communities to support planning and climate change adaptation measures / investments by local communities by providing them with performance-based climate resilience grants (SRCBP). Project activities will facilitate the design and adoption of locally established and culturally appropriate strategies aimed at integrating gender issues and inclusive participation in the management of natural resource conflicts.
Components
In the context of the project, UNCDF aims to establish a partnership with a local NGO / CSO which will be engaged on the following components:
- Capacity building of communities on issues of security / social cohesion and prevention and management of conflicts related to the exploitation of natural resources;
- The design, implementation and monitoring of a community contractualization system (cash for work) for the implementation of local investments resilient to climate change and green activities.
NGOs / CSOs participating in this call for proposals must submit the following documents:
- A letter of expression of interest signed and stamped by the organization’s lawyer,
- The duly completed “Request for Information” and “Financial Standing Form”,
- The technical project proposal, with a logical framework, methodological approach, a timetable and the CV of the proposed key personnel, the financial proposal.
