Non-governmental organizations with the capacity and experience are invited to submit projects/programs to this competition that can contribute to the implementation of the priorities established by the Decision on determining priority areas of public interest and the amount of funds for financing projects and programs of non-governmental organizations.
Strategic Goals
- The strategic goals to which the projects/programs of non-governmental organizations will contribute in 2025 are:
- Development of human resources and research capacities,
- Strengthening human resources in the field of research and innovation.
Priority Problems
- Priority problems in the field of science that are planned to be addressed by financing projects/programs of non-governmental organizations are:
- Insufficient recognition of the research profession and science in society;
- Low interest among students in enrolling in natural science faculties; and
- The lagging behind of the classical education model in modern trends imposed in the information age.
Funding Information
- The total amount of funds that can be distributed through this competition is: 100,000.00 euros.
- The lowest amount of funds that can be allocated to an individual project/programme is 10,000.00 euros, and the highest is 20,000.00 euros.
Eligible Activities
- Activities of a non-governmental organization that will contribute to the achievement of strategic goals and meeting the needs of target groups (eligible activities for funding) are:
- Bringing current scientific issues and methods closer to young people and the wider public;
- Improving science-focused journalism and research;
- Promoting research by Montenegrin scientists;
- Support of researchers to the educational process;
- Promoting and encouraging scientific activities involving citizens;
- Networking with regional and international initiatives in the field of science in society and working with young talented researchers;
- Organizing thematic meetings, trainings, workshops, competitions and conferences – education of primary and secondary school students, students, and interested persons;
- Organizing expert panels, round tables, meetings and seminars-conferences with international participation, including young Montenegrin researchers-talents;
- Support for research camps for students and young talents.
Target Groups
- The wider citizenry;
- Young talents;
- Young researchers; and
- Renowned NGOs in the field of science promotion.
Identified Needs of Target Groups
- Raising the visibility of science and its importance for society;
- Raising the level of interest of young talents to choose a career as a researcher – primary and secondary school students, as well as students, who are interested in doing research;
- Acquiring new knowledge and experience on the possibilities of strengthening the research capacities of young researchers, through the promotion of science.
Eligibility Criteria
- A non-governmental organization may apply for multiple projects/programs in this call for proposals, but in accordance with the Law on Non-Governmental Organizations, it may be awarded funds for only one project/program. That non-governmental organization may also be a partner in only one project/program within this Public Call for Proposals.
- A project/program application for this competition can be submitted by a non-governmental organization that:
- is registered in the Register of Non-Governmental Organizations;
- has defined the field of science from this competition as its field of activity through its goals and activities in the Statute;
- is not listed in the criminal record register;
- has submitted a return for fiscal year 2024 to the tax authority;
- in the previous three years (2022, 2023 and 2024) has conducted research, developed a document, organized a conference or implemented a project/program in the field of science.
