The Venture Cup Denmark has launched the applications for the National Startup Competition for the best and brightest university startups from the Danish Universities.
All startups compete for cash prizes, receive feedback from experts on how to improve their startup, and become a part of a network of like-minded entrepreneurs!

- Green: Making their planet and society more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
- Social: Solutions that help people locally and globally. Improving society and their lives.
- Digital: Everything from softwares, financial services, and new platforms.
- Product: A physical device / prototype that improves functionality or helps customers.
- Health: Optimizing health industry, saving more lives & creating better well-being.

- Teams are not required to have a Danish CVR no. when they apply, but if they win they will need a CVR in order to claim their cash prize within 12 months of winning.
Eligibility Criteria
- All teams must have at least one person who is a permanent resident of Denmark. This includes residents on temporary student visas.
- Participants from previous competitions can participate again if they have significantly made progress in their startup. Category winners cannot apply again.
- All teams must have at least one co-founder who is a student, faculty member, or recent graduate (within 2 years from graduation) from one of the Danish universities (AAU, AU, CBS, DTU, KU, RUC, SDU, ITU, RUC) at the time of submission.
- Full-time international students are also welcome to apply as long as they otherwise comply with the rules.
- Note that this does not include HHX, HTX and Gymnasium-level students, Business Academies, Maritime educational institutions, University colleges. Please refer to their sister organization, Danish Foundation for Entrepreneurship.
Judging Criteria
- All teams are evaluated and given feedback on the following criteria before the category finals:
- The quality of the idea
- Is the idea clear, coherent and well thought out?
- Is it based on relevant knowledge from own experience, education, research or work experience?
- Is the idea innovative e.g. does it push for new behavior, new products, processes, services or technologies by combining knowledge with existing or new solutions?
- Does the idea stand out from the competitors?
- The quality of the idea
- Impact
- Has the team quantified their value propositions and proven that there is a need, paying customers and that there is a market nationally or internationally?
- Does the idea have potential to become a sustainable business with a clear overview of how they are performing on all the Sustainable Development Goals and further has a plan to increase positive impact and decrease negative impact?
- The execution strategy
- Does the team show great drive and execution?
- Does the team seem knowledgeable within their field and have they made good assumptions for managing risk?
- Does the team have the required competences and/or a plan to obtain missing competences?
- Is the idea executable by the team (if they obtain missing competencies /resources and have a clear plan for it)?
- Does the team have a clear plan for implementation (time to market) of the idea with a realistic budget?
