Georgia Organics is pleased to announce a 2023 mini-grant program for innovative farm to school projects that create and share farm to school best practices.
Farm to School Innovation Mini-Grants will be awarded through a competitive application process to Georgia school district nutrition departments, supporting farm to school initiatives that:
- increase access to local, fresh, organically grown food,
- include culturally responsive food and education,
- include organic and/or sustainability focused garden education
- increase local food procurement,
- and/or benefit Georgia certified organic farmers in other ways.
Purpose: The purpose of this mini-grant program is to support Georgia school nutrition programs’ farm to school efforts while encouraging the creation and sharing of best farm to school practices during the school year 2022-2023.
Funding Information
- Minimum $600, maximum $5,000.
Criteria
- If awarded:
- Funds will be distributed on January 13, 2023.
- Professional development training and networking opportunities will be available for mini-grant awardees at the GO conference February 16-18, 2023 in Perry, GA.
- Grant recipients are required to sign a mini-grant agreement that includes the project plan and a commitment to share project progress, photographs and social media posts that tag Georgia Organics.
- Grant recipients are required to complete a post-award survey to report project completion by May 31, 2023.
