The Bell Let’s Talk has announced the Post Secondary Fund to support initiatives that improve student mental health and support the institution’s journey to align with the National Standard of Canada for Mental Health and Well-Being for Post-Secondary Students.
Bell supports post-secondary student mental health and wellness across Canada through the Bell Let’s Talk Post-Secondary Fund. Bell Let’s Talk funding enabled the creation of the National Standard of Canada for Mental Health.
Well-Being for Post-Secondary Students (the Standard), under the leadership of the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) and in partnership with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The Post-Secondary Fund supports initiatives that improve student mental health and support the institution’s journey to support implementation.
Funding Information
- The Bell Let’s Talk Post-Secondary Fund will award a grant of up to $100,000 to a select number of eligible institutions.
- Institutions will be required to complete a stewardship report by October 16, 2024 (and by October 16, 2025 for two-year projects).
Eligibility Criteria
- Demonstrate the institution completed a gap analysis to highlight those areas that require further work to meet the requirements of the Standard or Québec Action Plan.
- Clearly explain how the grant will help offset the costs to activate the institution’s project to align with the guiding principles and models of the Standard or Québec Action Plan.
- Support projects that will help the institution close an identified gap and support their efforts to align services with the Standard or Quebec Action Plan.
- Demonstrate a financial commitment of cash or in-kind by the institution in aligning services with the Standard or Quebec Action Plan.
- Incorporate student and/or student association feedback into their project, or students and/or student associations who were involved in the development of the project.
- Not-for-profit Canadian post-secondary institutions that are taking action to align with the implementation of the Standard or Québec Action Plan are eligible to apply for a grant.

- Business or contract fundraisers
- Individuals, families and political parties
- Private clinics
- Event sponsorship
- Capital campaigns and projects
