The Administration for Community Living/Administration on Aging (ACL/AoA) has announced a grant opportunity for the purpose of testing and supporting models of local programming designed to place volunteers in communities to assist family caregivers and/or assists older adults and individuals with disabilities in maintaining independence by providing non-medical care.
Priority Areas
Grantee will focus activity in two priority areas:
- Improving the nation’s overall capacity to support volunteer programs that provide non-medical care to assist caregivers, older adults, and/or persons with disabilities; and
- Advancing innovative models that support volunteer programs that provide non-medical care to assist caregivers, older adults, and/or persons with disabilities.

- Award Floor: $3,000,000
Eligibility Criteria
- Domestic public or private non-profit entities including state and local governments, Indian tribal governments and organizations (American Indian/Alaskan Native/Native American);
- Faith-based organizations, community-based organizations, hospitals, and institutions of higher education;
- Foreign entities are not eligible to compete for, or receive, awards made under this announcement.
