AIDS United is currently seeking letters of inquiry for its Sector Transformation Initiative.
With advances in HIV prevention and treatment, shifts in government and private funding priorities, and implementation of health care reform, organizations – particularly many community-based and culturally-specific organizations – around the country are encountering both opportunities and challenges to sustaining critical services addressing HIV and AIDS in their communities. These challenges are prompting many entities to reflect on their services and the needs of their communities, and develop strategies and partnerships to help necessary services survive.
Grant Information
Maximum of $30,000 will be awarded to support specific organizational needs (personnel and program/legal expenses) directly related to the proposed restructuring activities.
Eligibility Criteria
- All applicants must be non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 organizations or have a fiscal agent.
- The Sector Transformation program works with HIV-focused community-based organizations that are led by and serving marginalized communities (including MSM of color, women of color, transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals, people who use drugs, and sex workers).
- The Sector Transformation program works with HIV-focused community-based organizations with a social justice vision that are led by and serving marginalized communities (including MSM of color, women of color, transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals, people who use drugs, and sex workers).
- Grant funding is only available to organizations that are actively engaged in organizational restructuring activities.
- Documentation of Board approval and engagement in these activities is required.
