The U.S. Embassy to Zambia Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Department of State has announced an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a program to assist with U.S. Embassy education advising activities.
Project Objectives
EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network promoting U.S. higher education to students around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, and current information about opportunities to study at accredited postsecondary institutions in the United States. EducationUSA is the official source on U.S. higher education.
The U.S. Embassy’s EducationUSA Zambia program is seeking a registered Zambian non-profit, non-governmental organization to assist with their educational advising activities. Specifically, their grantee partner will assist talented Zambian students who are highly competitive for full financial aid but who do not have the financial means to apply to universities in the United States. This program is known as “Opportunity Funds”. The funds for this program that are administered by their grantee partner will be used for the following:
- Application and test fees;
- SEVIS and visa fees; and
- Settling in allowances.

Zambian students who want to study in the United States.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Public Affairs Section encourages applications from Zambian:
- Registered not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/nongovernmental organizations with education program experience.
- Non-profit educational institutions.
- For-profit or commercial entities are not eligible to apply.
