The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF) is accepting applications for the Including Communities Grant Programme.
‘Including Communities’ will deliver on HIWCF’s core aim of tackling poverty and inequality by helping to build flourishing and connected communities.
They think that communities thrive when local community activities and services regularly bring people together and when these activities and services are shaped by local people/people from the target community.
Funding Information
- This grant programme offers 12-month grants of £1,000 – £10,000 for not-for-profit community organisations.
Eligibility Criteria
- The community activities and services that this grants-programme will fund need to meet all three of the following programme-criteria.
- Your application must be for work that reaches people living hard and challenging lives. Your bid should make clear how the requested funding will reach people who are living in poverty, facing discrimination, or isolated. This funding allows work with people of all ages; and
- Your application must be for work that regularly brings together members of the community (e.g. support groups, social action projects, volunteering initiatives, community groups). And
- The application must show how local people/ people from your target community helped to shape this work – this could be through these people being consulted, volunteering, or leading the work.
- This fund is for grass-roots organisations and only open to organisations with an income under £1million (with some funds reserved for organisations with an income under £100,000).
Ineligibility Criteria
- Exclusions:
- HIWCF’s standard exclusions apply. In addition:
- They will not fund work that is carried out on a one-to-one basis e.g. counselling. This funding is about bringing the community together.
- They will not fund individual items of equipment over £1,000, capital costs or refurbishment work.
- They are a placed based funder and will give priority to community organisations solely based in and delivering work in Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton, and the Isle of Wight.
